Active membership is open to all artists who may wish to submit to the annual juried Exhibition (or other shows) or who may have an interest in moving up to Signature or Master membership levels either in the same year or following years. Active members receive all of the benefits listed here, and may apply for higher membership status at the annual jury process. You may apply for Active membership up to two (2) times in a year.
To become an Active member you must submit a $20 jury fee and fill out the Active Membership Application Form below, including five (5) images that represent your best scratchboard work. A Master (MSA) member will evaluate your portfolio and you will be notified of the results via email within 30 days. You may apply for Active membership at any time of the year, annual dues of $40.00 are pro-rated. If you are accepted for Active status, you will be billed for the balance due, and payment must be made within 30 days of bill receipt to finalize your membership.

Jury for Active member level is by digital images ONLY. Good image quality is imperative for the jurors to review your work. Images should be cropped to show only the artwork: do not include matting, framing, or background. All images must be properly exposed and in focus. Image files MUST be named as follows: LastNameFirstName-ArtworkTitle-Size of unframed work in inches (i.e., SmithJohn-DarkForest-10×8.jpg). Submit all images as jpg files that are 1400 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi. Ensure your uploaded images are named correctly!! Images submitted that are not named or sized correctly, or are of poor quality will be eliminated without consideration. Artworks must have been created from your own reference materials, or material you have written permission to use.

Re-Use of Images from Previous Active Applications: You may re-use no more than two (2) images used in a previous Active membership application.
Lapsed Active Members: Lapsed membership shall result in loss of all membership benefits for the duration of time until membership has been paid in full. Active level members shall have their Active level reinstated, without being juried again, upon renewal.

If your application for Active level is accepted, you will receive notification and further instructions regarding payment of your membership fee. This must be done within 30 days in order to finalize your membership.
